persian t is a long-haired breed of cat and its face is round and short muzzle. It is also called as persian short face and Persian long hair cats.
In the Middle East it is known as Iranian cats and in Iran, it is known as Shirazi cats. The first Persian imported from Iran into Italy around 1620.
It was import from Iran into Europe, then their popularity grew and breeding took place in Italy and France.

In 1950, the Siamese cats was crossed with the Persians to create a new breed with the body type of the Persians and colour type is like Siamese and put It name as an Himalayan, after other colour point animals such as the Himalayan rabbit.
In UK it is also known as Colour point Longhair cats. It is separate breed in the US until 1984, when the CFA merged it with the Persians.
Short hair Persian cat
In 1950, Exotic Persians was use as an outcross secretly by some American Shorthair breeders. In 1966 the CFA to recognize them as a new breed under the name Exotic Shorthair.
Some Exotics may carry a copy of the recessive longhair gene, it is possible when two such cats mate, there is a one in four chance of each offspring being longhaired.
